Intensive Arabic Language Program

Academics
The Intensive Arabic Language Program is an introduction to Modern Standard/Literary Arabic (the written language) and will be taught at the elementary level only. Class sessions will focus on learning the Arabic alphabet as well as grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, and translation. The course will cover basic morphology and syntax of Modern Standard Arabic, including verb patterns.

Classes meet four days per week, six hours each day, and students can expect several hours of homework every day. One additional day each week will be devoted to a field trip to visit locations of interest in Arab-speaking communities in the northern parts of Israel. The course is taught in English and is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the Arabic language.

The Arabic Language program awards five academic credits.

My Arabic improved dramatically over the four weeks that I was in the program. We were able to practice as a cohesive group working together to help each other improve. Along with all of the hard work, we were able to see the beautiful country and all of the historical landmarks it has offer!
