We invite you to join us for an innovation academic tour at University of Haifa. In this 10-day course, students will explore famous Israeli entrepreneurs’ startup ideas, learn about Israeli innovative culture and spirit, hear lectures from the world’s best professors of the Israeli innovation phenomenon, study investments of Israeli venture capital, brainstorm with CEO of Carmel-Haifa University Economic Corporation, and hear introductions of the university’s incubator operation. In addition, the students will have opportunities to give roadshow presentations, share theirs startup ideas, and receive worldwide successful entrepreneur Dr. Barak Ben-Avinoam’s feedback and mentorship. Dr. Barak Ben-Avinoam is an expert in the field of early-stage investments, technology start-ups, accelerators and incubators. He is a Partner at Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), an early-stage venture capital firm with deep Silicon Valley roots.
This course will connect you to business executives, investors, professionals and the leading experts in your field of interest, taking you to the start-up hubs, technology companies, and provide you with a platform for understanding Israeli creativity, and help you to discover the entrepreneurial spirit that has built Israel’s worldwide reputation as the “Startup Nation”.
The University of Haifa sees this academic tour as an opportunity to expose faculty and students from leading Chinese universities to the excellence and vitality that is offered here in the city of Haifa. Through this course, the students will become empowered as young global leaders and entrepreneurs. This academic experience should be a stepping stone to furthering collaboration between our institution and yours, with the goal of creating long-term, mutual, academic agreements for collaboration between international and Israeli institutes of higher education.
This course is open to groups of students selected by their home institution who are above 18, currently enrolled in university, and are young entrepreneurs.
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Minimum grade point average 3.0
- Good communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
- Personal statement essay in English
Social and Cultural Activities
Students participate in activities with experienced university Social Activity coordinators, as well as take trips to Israel’s tourist attractions, such as Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Kibbutz, Hecht Museum, Bahai Gardens, etc. Students will immerse in the local culture, through Shabbat dinner meals, Israeli films, and other social activities. Students may also take advantage of visits around the city of Haifa and Israel. Please see our social activities page.
Admissions & Cost
This course is $2,700 USD, all inclusive* (Airport pick-up service, transportation fees, full meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, accommodation, medical insurance in Israel, visits to high-tech companies, activities and tours ) .
