Ester Cohen received her M.A. degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Haifa, her B.A. degree in Arabic Language and Literature, and is a PhD candidate in the Middle Eastern Studies Department. She completed her M.A. studies in 2019 with a thesis entitled "Criteria for Choosing Marital Twosome and for Slaves and Slave-Girls for the Purpose of Sexual Relations in the Early Mamluk Sultanate (648-784 /1250-1382)". Cohen is the Manager of The Middle East & Islamic Studies Association of Israel (MEISAI), and Editorial Coordinator and Manager of The Peer-Reviewed Journal The New East. Today, she teaches the MSA Arabic courses at the International School.
