Dr. Sarit Pisson was born and raised in the Haifa. She completed her Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees at the University of Haifa in Arabic Language and Literature Department. Her research interests are in the field of violence amongst women in Muslim societies and in relation to Islamic Law and Theology. She completed each degree with honors and was recognized throughout her studies for her academic excellence. Sarit worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Haifa from 1999 -2004. She started teaching Modern Standard Arabic in the International School in 2009, where she is now the director of the Arabic Language Program which has grown to offer Intensive summer programs in July and August as well as semester courses.
