Want to learn about Israel? Immerse yourself at the University of Haifa this summer for the Israel Studies Program. You will study the fields of Israeli history, education, culture, religion, Middle Eastern politics and society and more. This unique experience will allow you explore to an insider’s view of Israel, its people, cultural sites and the academic excellence of the university.
This two-week program will examine Israeli society from a variety of perspectives, including Jews, Arabs, education, economics, politics, culture, religion, it will provide students with a historical perspective of the establishment of the State of Israel, and encourage students with independent thinking and critical judgment regarding the historical development of Israel and its current status.
This study program will provide students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in careers in public affairs, diplomacy, the Foreign Service, education, and research.
The program is taught in English from July 14th 2020 to July 30th 2020. Lectures will be held three days per weeks and eight academic hours per day. The course is 48 academic hours.
During this two-week course, students will have one academic tour to deepen understanding the course. In addition, the program also provides trips to explore Israel such as Haifa, the ancient city of Akko, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
The program awards two academic credits.

In this setting, students will experience the relevant issues of a multicultural society.
Studies at the University of Haifa consist of both demanding academics, as well as social and cultural opportunities. The experienced and professional staff at the International School will guide you through any bureaucratic challenges as well as provide a range of social and cultural events on campus.
This course is open to students who are above 18, and currently enrolled in university.
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Minimum grade point average 3.0
- Good communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
- Personal statement essay in English
Social and Cultural Activities
Students participate in activities with experienced university Social Activity coordinators, as well as take trips to Israel’s tourist attractions, such as Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Bahai Gardens, etc. Students will immerse in the local culture, through Shabbat dinner meals, Israeli films, and other social activities. Students may also take advantage of visits around the city of Haifa and Israel. Please see our social activities page.
Housing & Facilities
Students are welcome to live in the dormitory facilities on campus
Admissions & Cost
This course is $1,000 USD, which includes the academic course, field trips and social activities, and medical insurance for the duration of the program.
Double Dorm on campus $320, per person. Non-refundable registration fee of $80 for application.
