Spring 2024: February 27 - June 6, 2024

The Hebrew language semester program is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in a language acquisition experience that is personally enriching as well as academically demanding. Instruction is offered at all levels from beginners with no knowledge of the language to advanced classes. The program focuses on strengthening all four major skills: writing, reading, speaking, and comprehension. Students who only want to enroll in the Hebrew language semester program of the International School are considered part-time students. During the academic semesters (September – January, and February – June) Hebrew classes meet four days per week, Mondays through Thursdays, for two hours each morning either from 8 am-10 am or 10 am-12 pm (classes rotate daily between these times). This course awards 6 academic credits.

Academics

Students will take an online placement exam after submitting their application. This exam will be used to place students in the most appropriate class for their level of efficiency. The Hebrew language classes are relatively small and each student is given a great deal of personal attention and an opportunity to interact with both fellow students and the teacher. In addition to traditional learning through textbooks, classes will also involve computer and video sessions, and student presentations.

Placement Exam

The Hebrew placement test is to be completed online. It is mandatory to complete as much as possible without the use of any aid and submit it. A link to the placement exam will be sent after your application is submitted.

Tuition and Fees

Program Cost: $1,100.

Purchasing the book and materials are separate costs*

Intensive Hebrew

For students interested in a one-month intensive Hebrew course, we offer one session every winter (mid-January to mid-February) and two sessions every summer (July and August).

Levels offered are Alef, Bet, Gimmel, Dalet, and Hei. Please Note: Course levels/ offerings are based on the number of applicants and their placement exams. The International School reserves the right to cancel/change any program up until one month before the start of that program.
