The Intensive Hebrew Summer Hebrew Course brings students from over 40 countries to the University of Haifa to study Hebrew in one of the most effective language learning programs in Israel. The Hebrew course is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in an intensive language acquisition experience that is personally enriching as well as academically demanding. Instruction is offered on all levels from beginning to advanced.**

Sundays through Thursdays from 8:30-13:00 (Israel time)
Total Credits: 5
Academic Hours: 100
**All course-level offerings are based on the number of applicants and their placement exams
In addition to learning through textbooks, classes may also include video sessions, student presentations, and visits to sites on campus such as the Hecht Museum. In addition, students may have the opportunity to listen to guest lecturers. While the more advanced classes will listen to the lectures and participate in discussions, the beginners’ classes will prepare questions for their guests and hold their own interviews in simple Hebrew. Activities are subject to change in accordance with the format of the class being offered (in-person or online)
In the afternoon students are expected to prepare their homework which should take approximately 3 hours daily. There will be mid-term and final examinations.

Language Placement Exam**
**Please note** The language exam is a requirement for acceptance, but it is not part of the initial application. A link to an online placement exam will be sent to you via email after you submit your application.
The Hebrew placement test is to be completed online. This exam will be used to place students in the most appropriate class for their level of Hebrew language knowledge. It is mandatory to complete as much as possible without the use of any aid and submit it. A link to the placement exam will be sent after your application is submitted.

The course is open to all applicants ages 18 and older.
