For decades, the State of Israel has been addressing complex national security challenges. Designed in partnership with Israel’s globally renowned National Security College, the international Master of Arts in National Security Studies introduces students to pressing, complex, real-time national security dilemmas, conflicts, and processes in Israel and other regions. The program is ideal for students pursuing a career in governmental, security, and private organizations, who wish to explore and address strategic social, political, ethical, diplomatic, economic, and military dimensions of national security.
Developed in collaboration with Israel’s National Security College, IDF’s highest course of study and the world’s leading educational institution for military, intelligence, and government executives from Europe, America, and Asia, our program offers:
Our one-year international master’s program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters from October through September. Graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts in Political Science, with a specialization in National Security Administration from the University of Haifa
National Security Studies is a non-thesis track. Students who wish to pursue the thesis track will have two options:
1. Switch to a thesis track after the second semester, and not complete the specialization in National Security Administration.
2. Complete the program and submit candidacy to a thesis writing track in the following year.
In both cases, students must have a minimum average of 90 after their first semester. Requests for the thesis track will be considered individually and are dependent on students’ achievements, their ability to secure a supervisor, and other factors. The thesis will be submitted within one year of completion of their coursework, which may require an extended stay at the university.
