The UHaifa International Master of Arts program in Israel Studies offers students the opportunity to engage in an in-depth study of the state of Israel: its history, complex society, multicultural character, and relationship with the Jewish Diaspora.
Aligning the unprecedented growth of programs, research centers, and chair endowments in Israel Studies in North America and Europe, our international Master’s program is designed for students who wish to broaden their understanding of Israeli society. This includes a variety of perspectives, including Aliyah and migration, economics, politics, culture, religion, and the ties between Israel and Jewish communities abroad.
This International Master’s program is part of UHaifa’s School of Historical and Regional Studies, home to a wide range of study programs that collaborate in research and teaching. Its unique academic model provides students the freedom to choose from a variety of courses and extensive research options.
Our one-year international Master’s program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters from October through September. Graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts (MA) in Israel Studies, specialization in the field of Israel Studies and 20th Century Jewish History.
Students who prefer to pursue the research track will submit their thesis within one year of completing their coursework, which may require a prolonged stay at the university.
