Holocaust research has emerged as a critical field of scholarship, calling for a new generation of scholars to shed light on its events and significance.

Accordingly, the Weiss-Livnat International MA Program in Holocaust Studies offers a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the Holocaust. It offers unique experiential opportunities within the framework of a scholarly and dedicated professional community. They include state of the art research and theory, relevant language courses, hands-on internships in globally renowned Holocaust institutions in both Israel and abroad, educational field trips, meetings with Holocaust survivors, global experts, and more.

One Year, One Degree

​Our one-year international master’s program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters from October through September. Graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts (MA) in Holocaust Studies.
Students who choose to pursue the research track will submit their thesis within one year of completing their coursework. This may require an extended stay at the university.

Admission Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA, 80% (B) (Israeli system), in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Students who do not have a background in the field of History will be requested to take relevant courses. Each case will be considered on its own merit.

  • Two recommendations letters
  • TOEFL – score 89 or alternative acceptable English language examination score
  • Personal Statement (500 words)

  • Medical forms (international students only)
  • Copy of valid passport
