About:

The UHaifa International Master of Arts in Jewish Studies offers a wide perspective of Judaism that includes Biblical, Talmudic, historical, philosophical, and mystical levels of knowledge. From the Biblical to early Modern Era, our students expand their knowledge of all stages of Jewish history and thought.

Our International Master’s program is part of UHaifa’s School of Historical and Regional Studies, home to a wide range of study programs that collaborate in research and teaching. Its unique academic model provides students the freedom to choose from a variety of courses and extensive research options.

Highlights:

​Our 1-year program aims to:

  • Provide students a methodological basis and firsthand research sources for engaging in Jewish Studies, with emphasis on the relations between local and global Jewish cultures throughout history.
  • Combining theoretical knowledge with educational field trips to Israel’s key historical sites.
  • Offer diverse scholarships optional for eligible students.
One Year, One Degree
  • Our one-year international Master’s program is taught in English over three consecutive semesters from October through September.
  • Hybrid learning optional during the first semester.
  • Graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts (MA) in Jewish Thought.
  • Students who prefer to pursue the research track will prolong their stay in Israel and submit their thesis within one year of completing their coursework.

Admission Requirements

  • BA degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences with a minimum of 3.0 GPA, 80% (B) (Israeli system), or equivalent in all undergraduate courses.
  • Good command of the English language.

  • Copy of undergraduate diploma and official transcript of BA degree showing full list of courses, date of graduation, and conferred degree.
  • Two recommendations letters
  • TOEFL – score 89 or alternative acceptable English language examination score
  • Personal Statement (500 words)
  • Curriculum Vitae/Resumé
  • Medical forms (international students only)
  • Copy of valid passport
